Worst Radio Personality

For close to two decades now, commercial radio stations have hired perfectly funny people and put them in on-air positions designed to ensure they are as unfunny as possible. In contrast, government radio hires unfunny people and gives them ample opportunity to prove how unfunny they are, often for years at a time. No wonder everyone has an iPod.

WORST RADIO PERSONALITY
Kyle Sandilands (2Day FM Breakfast) - 77.78%
"What personality?"
- Erin
"Kind of an obvious vote, but as the whole 'Kyle returns to Australian Idol' media campaign of ill-deserved redemption has started it's important to say 'Get fucked you nasty, bullying cunt' loudly and often."
- mixmasterflibble
"Where to begin? With his 'The world owes me 'cause my childhood was shit' attitude (sorry dude join the club!) or his complete lack of personality, humour or intelligence?"
- Marcelle
NOMINEES
Matt Tilley (Fox FM Breakfast) - 16.67%
Scott Dooley (Triple J Drive) - 5.56%

Last year's winner:
Akmal Saleh

You know that feeling you get when you've eaten too much? And not too much salad or fruit, but too much thickly sliced ham in thick bread slathered in margarine and then toasted together into one solid wedge of fat? Chunks and chunks of it, until all you can do is sprawl on a chair with your bloated stomach quivering before you as your gargling, rumbling guts desperately struggles to break it down into thick clots of excrement? Kyle Sandilands is the physical embodiment of that feeling.

Rumour has it that even Matt Tilley is sick of his trademark "Gotcha" calls, only Fox FM has his signature on a contract that says he has to keep on doing them. So here's an open plea to Matt Tilley: why not walk away? Why not simply say no and put down the old lady wig? How much money does one man need? Give up the Gotcha Calls and go back to doing what it is you love; what it is in the world that you do best. Which is obviously...oh, right. Carry on.

Saying that Dools' shift to commercial radio is the right move for him isn't some kind of crap "sell-out" argument. As far as radio comedy goes, Triple J (and the ABC in general) hasn't been a happy hunting ground for a long, long time. It's a simple acknowledgement that Dools has never been even remotely memorable in even the slightest way, and so moving to a station where he'll be crowded out by songs and ads can only be a massive improvement.
